Light Verse

I don't consider myself a poet or a versifier, but I am a writer and, as such, my mind is open to all kinds of thoughts. Verses pop in (or out) and I jot them down as they occur, because, like many writers, I keep voluminous notes. Sometimes there's meaning behind my light verse. Sometimes there's not...or maybe I don't remember what brought them on.

Time
A Wish Can Be

Time

Time is an old man
Staring at the sun,
Standing in a patch of dirt
With his breeches on.

Time is a minstrel
Playing on a flute,
Dancing on a tinker's bell
In a silver suit.

Time is an idiot
Dancing in a space,
Grinning with each shuffling foot
Tripping on his own shoe lace.

A Wish Can Be

A wish can be a snowflake or a seed.
It can water the dream to succeed.
Will it melt to nothing
Or will it grow to meet the need?
