The following short articles were originally written for Pen Points, the newsletter of the Philadelphia Writers' Conference, of which I am a current member of the board of directors and past and current president. They have also been distributed in writing workshops at the request of the workshop leader. 

Writing is a craft that demands a willlingness to continue to learn and to fully understand the process that brings an idea to a readable form. It also requires determination and an understanding of how to fulfill what the reader expects to get from the time spent reading your words.
